At Draper of Glastonbury, we are the oldest makers of shearling ankle boots in the United Kingdom. Our factory in England is over 85 years old, established in 1937 by R. J. Draper. We are still family owned to this day, and our skilled craftspeople have a lifetime of experience working with sheepskin. The Glastonbury area itself has been famous for the UK’s sheepskin industry since the 12th century AD, when the monks of Glastonbury Abbey began tanning skins.
Short ankle sheepskin boots are popular as they are both smart and casual footwear that can be worn with any outfit. They are easy to get on and off, with both zips and lace options available depending on the style. Our sheepskin lined ankle boots include our style called Cambridge, which is a classic boot we have made for over 85 years. It has a twin zip on either side allowing for easy fitting, and it is a wide fitting sheepskin lined boot. It has a non slip rubber sole and, of course, our signature sheepskin lining throughout from top to toe.
Our shearling ankle boots womens are water resistant as they are made from waterproof suede and waxed leather, depending on the style. Shearling lined ankle boots are hard to find in traditional designs, and Drapers are the most popular in England. We produce over a thousand pairs per week in our factory in Glastonbury.
